| These are pictures of our whitewater rafting
adventure in Valdez. I do not know anything about rafting but the guide
had stated that this was a class three river. I had thought that I was
going overboard a few times but thankfully I didn't. These were taken
with a waterproof disposable camera in between my paddling duties.
Although we were told that there were moose that frequented the area, we didn't see any at all. The group that rafted after us had stated that they saw 2 moose while traveling down the river. I'm sure they lied because everyone in Alaska seemed to. There is no wildlife in Alaska except for Nit, Bald Eagles, and Little Baby Water Bears. Alaska is also home to 1 Mountain Goat. I do have pictures of this goat, they are located in the Portage Glacier section. The water in this river was about 40 degrees and I did get to feel this temperature first hand when my boots filled. They did not have any boots my size so I crammed my feet into size 10 ankle cut boots. Everyone else had boots that came up to their calves. And believe me my boots were filled to the top and that water was freaking cold. Picture dc06, 07, and 21 are of Bridal Falls. Dc21 is from the road while 06 and 07 are from the raft. Bridal Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in Alaska. Check out the cool digs that we got to wear. These couldn't be of any help if we were to fall into the river.
